Twin Falls was a terrific stop. We enjoyed great scenery, got Check's bike fixed at the local Trek store, and had cheap hookups at nearby Jerome Fairgrounds. It was time to move on, though, and the local guy-in-the-RV-that-lives-at-the-fairgrounds (there's always one) warned us that there would be a "Mexican Rodeo" that coming weekend and we wouldn't want to be there for that! 😁 So we took his advice and traveled just a little farther south to Murtaugh Lake. Nearby was Cauldron Linn, a series of waterfalls through a narrow section of the Snake River Canyon. We rode our bikes over there twice. It's a beautiful place and a nice bike ride over.
After Murtaugh Lake we drove to City of Rocks - the one in Idaho, that is. It's a really interesting place that was along the original California Trail. There are a couple of rocks with signatures of the emigrants that came through in the mid-1800's. A very popular place for rock climbers, we didn't even realize that Labor Day was coming up and we weren't able to stay through the weekend as everything was already booked. We stayed at the State Park Campground and it was one of the nicest we've been in. We got some great biking and hiking in and got to see a lot of the park before having to travel onward.
Emigrants coming from St. Louis were stunned by this first look of completely different terrain, and named it City of Rocks

City of Rocks is very popular with rock climbers. Can you spot them?
We'd love to viisit again someday!
