Evie, our Aluma Trailer
Here we go again
We really had no plans to name our trailer….
…I mean, who names a trailer? The day we bought Evie, we drove down to the courthouse and completed the registration. As I was walking out of the building, I looked down at the new license plate and the first two letters were EV. That's all it took. And yes, I realize we have no imagination whatsoever.
More nerdy specs
Part toy-hauler, part laundry, part storage
Before we got Evie, we had different 14' trailer. That one was steel, had a flat nose, and the wheel wells were under deck. It weighed 500 pounds more, and had way less room. When we sold that trailer and got Evie, were amazed at the additional space we had with the V-nose and the outside wheel wells. She holds our paramotors, wings, bikes, washer/dryer, seven 40-gallon totes, a garden cart, a 21-gallon water tote and all kinds of little odds and ends. And that was without even really trying!
Probably the best modification we made was adding the laundry. Having the ability to do laundry at a campground is absolutely priceless to us. We have a little Splendide washer/dryer combo that came out of a Class A motorhome. We fastened it down with aircraft motor mounts, hooked in electricity, water, drainage and dryer vent. It works fantastic!
The 40-gallon totes hold hiking gear, chargers and saddlebags for the eBikes, paramotor parts, some winter clothes for us (just in case) and a few other extras. We still have lots of room in them, but I'm sure we'll fill them up eventually.
